Motherly Way Enterprises, Inc. was created in 1999 with the purpose of understanding pregnancy from a different perspective: from the baby's point of view.

"Countdown to a Miracle: The Making of Me" was the first day by day calendar written entirely from the baby's perspective. It was released in 1999 and sold over 20,000 copies. In 2007, the rights to Countdown were sold to Meadowbrook Press and the name shortened to "Countdown to My Birth".

In 2008, "Making Me: The Pregnancy Activity Book for My Big Brother or Sister" was published and builds on the success of the previous book. While most sibling books are designed for the toddler, "Making Me" is designed for the often overlooked 5-10 year old sibling.
